Energy Transfer has reached a deal to sell its 51% stake in Energy Transfer Canada to a JV between Pembina and KKR for $1.3 billion, including debt and preferred equity. The sale will grant ET cash proceeds of $270 million and closing is set for 3Q22.

    Pembina and KKR will combine their Canadian natural gas processing assets into a single joint venture company. Pembina will be the operator and own 60% of the business while KKR hold's 40%. Pembina will be contributing its own gas processing asset, the Veresen Midstream business (currently 55% owned by Pembina, 45% KKR), and the acquired assets from Energy Transfer Canada. All transactions add up to a combined $11.4 billion value.

Upon closing, Independence shareholders will own 76% of the company while Contango holds a 24% position. They will have a combined equity market cap of $4.8 billion and an enterprise value of $5.7 billion, closing is targeted for 3Q/4Q21

    NextEra has entered into a "$1.1 billion convertible equity portfolio financing with a consortium of private infrastructure investors" to sell a 50% stake in multiple renewable projects. When all is said and done, NextEra will receive $1.3 billion in proceeds from a group headed up by KKR. NextEra's new portfolio will includes several new power projects, in addition to Northern Colorado Wind Energy Center, Baldwin Wind Energy Center, Elk City I Wind Energy Center and the interests of the entity that owns Genesis Solar Energy Center.
