Jointly owned by Sempra U.S. Gas & Power and Consolidated Edison Development, the 75-megawatt (MW) Broken Bow II wind farm is located in wind-rich Custer County, Nebraska. Broken Bow II provides a new source of clean electricity and an economic boost to surrounding communities.
The project, which created about 300 jobs during peak construction, was completed in late 2014. Broken Bow II utilizes 43 wind turbines to generate enough electricity to power about 28,000 Nebraska homes.
The entire output from the wind farm has been sold to the Nebraska Public Power District under a 25-year contract.
