Equistar Chemicals, LP manufactures basic chemicals, polymers, and fuels products in North America. The company operates in two segments, chemicals business segment and polymers business segment. The chemicals business segment produces and markets ethylene, its co-products and derivatives. Ethylene co-products include propylene, butadiene and aromatics, which include benzene and toluene. Derivatives of ethylene include ethylene oxide, ethylene glycol and other derivatives, as well as ethanol. It also produces gasoline blending components such as methyl tertiary butyl ether and alkylate.
