Empire Pipeline, Inc.

Company Summary

Description

Empire Pipeline started operations in 1993 as a 157-mile natural gas transmission pipeline. In 2008, the 77-mile Empire Connector Pipeline was placed into service, this added a southern lateral connecting Empire to Millennium Pipeline at Corning. In November of 2011, the 15-mile Tioga County Extension was built, extending the Empire Connector to producer gathering systems located in Jackson, PA. Empire's transportation of high-pressure natural gas begins with the receipt of natural gas at either its TransCanada pipeline interconnection or through facilities located at the southern end of the Empire Connector. This natural gas is then delivered to large manufacturing facilities, local gas utilities, interconnecting pipelines and electric generation plants that are located along its pipeline route throughout Western and Central New York continuing east to the Syracuse, NY area. These local gas utilities and electric generators rely on this delivered natural gas to dependably provide energy to over 1 million consumers.
