Mississippi Hub, LLC

Company Summary

Description

Sempra U.S. Gas & Power’s Mississippi Hub Storage is a high-deliverability underground facility located at the Bond Salt Dome in Simpson County, Mississippi. The facility offers close proximity to major interstate pipelines and pipeline expansion projects that access major downstream natural gas markets. It also provides access to emerging shale gas production in east Texas and Louisiana, liquefied natural gas imports, as well as traditional gas supplies in the Gulf of Mexico and along the Gulf Coast. Mississippi Hub Storage has multiple pipeline interconnections and is ideally located to serve growing demand centers in the Southeast and Northeast regions. Direct pipeline connections include Southern Natural Gas (SoNat), Southeast Supply Header (SESH) and Transcontinental Gas Pipeline. The facility is permitted for four storage caverns holding up to 30 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of working gas. The 8.3 Bcf third cavern was completed in May 2014, expanding the site’s storage capacity to 22.3 Bcf. Additional cavern and associated pipeline expansion opportunities will be evaluated and constructed based on regional market demand for storage services.
