Description

The Clear Lake Power Plant is located in Pasadena, Texas. Three combustion turbines exhaust into heat recovery steam generators, which provide steam to two steam turbines. Four Auxiliary Boilers provide additional steam capacity for base load and N-1 steam requirements. Electricity generated by the Clear Lake Power Plant is sold under long-term power sales agreements and into the ERCOT Merchant Market. An average of 950 kpph of steam is supplied under long-term agreements with Celanese and Old World Industries through a combination of 990 kpph of Cogeneration steam and 1,000,000 kpph of Auxiliary Boiler capacity. The facility has historically maintained extremely high steam and power contract reliability resulting in satisfied customers. In addition to being an asset to the business community, Clear Lake Cogeneration was honored with the 2004 Corporate Civic Award by a United Way Agency for its employee’s volunteer and charity fundraising efforts in the Pasadena community.
