Total Signs Joint Development Agreement in South Africa for FSRU Terminal

Total has signed a joint development agreement with South African gas firm Gigajoule for the potential development of a floating storage and regas facility.  Total will provide gas supplies to the project which could FID as soon as mid-2020 and start initial service in late-2022.

South Africa is facing future declines from natural gas fields in Mozambique in 2023-2024 and is seeking alternate supply lines.
